The White House was built between 1792 and 1800, and it was burnt in 1814 by the British troops during the War of 1812. After the conclusion of the war, the White House was reconstructed in the 1820s and enlarged throughout the years, including extensive interior renovations from 1949 to 1951. The Yellow Oval Space, which is at the top of the oval rooms, is often used as a study or an unofficial gathering room. In more recent times, it has been converted into a family room as well as a welcome area for important guests.

Rooms off to the east of the kitchen were switched to pantry and meat storage. Before 1935, the space was used as a storage area, but it was converted into a library. William Taft hired architect Nathan Wyeth to expand the executive wing in 1909, resulting in the formation of the Oval Office as the president’s work space.

The second floor private residence of the chief executive had no access to the outdoors, so Truman suggested a balcony be built within the south portico. Thurber House is a nonprofit literary center which once served as the home of author and cartoonist James Thurber. Mr Thurber himself said that he experienced paranormal activity in the house while he lived there and today visitors are also experiencing phantom footsteps and other activity.

What are the best nights to go to Halloween Horror Nights?
We have a dedicated food vendor on site featuring Halloween-themed menu items and even hot and cold apple cider. Enjoy one of our custom Fear Columbus cheesecake desserts in the Fear Gear store. Abandoned jails and prisons, including those in Newark and Mansfield, also make suitable settings for hauntings. The park right next to the hospital is also said to be haunted by ‘The Pink Lady’ and children staying in the hospital often report seeing her from their rooms.
We implemented timed ticketing for all tickets moving forward and have removed our onsite box office. This has reduced wait times, allowed for more space between groups and an overall much better customer experience. You will still wait in a line but it will be significantly shorter than without using timed entry. We are still offering fast pass and skip the line tickets for customers looking to reduce their wait times on our busy nights.

If you arrive to far in advance of your entry time you may be asked to leave and return at the proper time. If you arrive later than your entry time you may be refused admittance to the event with no refund given.
